1.) Primary pupils 'should learn computing', says Microsoft. All children should learn computer science at primary school, a major software corporation has urged.

2.) Secretary of Education denies charters to cyber charter school applicants for 2013-14 school year. Citing significant deficiencies in curriculum, finance and overall operations, Secretary of Education Ron Tomalis this week denied eight cyber charter school applications for the 2013-14 school year.

3.) Education tech investments surpassed $1 billion in 2012. As venture capitalists pour money into educational technology companies, some wonder whether they are just building a new bubble.

4.) The educational tech scam. Although no reasonable person would buy a new car sight unseen and without comparing price to another similar vehicle, states seem willing to gamble with education and different test schemes.

5.) Google donates 15,000 Raspberry Pi computers to U.K. schools. Schools in the U.K. are to be receive 15,000 free Raspberry Pi computers, with the aim of creating the next generation of computer scientists.
