Tesla Model S is top-scoring car: Consumer Reports

Posting in Technology

After announcing its first profitable quarter earlier this week, there's more good news for Tesla.

Tesla Model S was the top-scoring car in Consumer Reports' annual report.

There, we said it. The Tesla Model S outscores every other car in our test Ratings. It does so even though it's an electric car. In fact, it does so because it is electric.

Here's a look the Consumer Reports review:

It's hardly a surprise that the Tesla Model S is receiving top honors. Already Automobile Magazine called it the "automobile of the year" and Motor Trend named it "car of the year."

Of course, there's always room for improvement. The one thing holding back this car is range. It has the best range of any electric car on the market, but you can only make long distance trips on certain routes. That's not lost on Tesla though. They've rolled out Supercharger stations throughout the United States. Currently, the routes are in California and between Washington, D.C. and Boston.

More of those and the car will have an even stronger appeal.
