Inventive idea of the day: power by phone books
— By Kirsten Korosec on January 8, 2014, 10:07 AM PST
So we cut down the trees, make paper, print phone books because there are contracts out there.
Re-purpose/recycle the phone books by turning them in to power....by burning perchance? This is ridiculous!! ..and of course the method of producing electricity was not included. Is this article a PR handout... r shame.
Personally I use a phone book about twice a year, and not the yellow pages. Advertisers are being ripped off. The planet is being ripped off.
Printing phone books is not only plain stupid, it should be made illegal as the environmental impact is really big. Phone book publishers are evidently ripping off their own advertising clients, and should be banned from printing more editions. If in Oahu more than 170,000 old phone books were recycled that is a clear indication that people don't want or need phone books of any kind anymore. The publishers know that but still peddle advertisement sales to a media that is dead.
@jfh15950I'm sure glad you hold no 'public' or other dictatorial 'office.'
