The Oatmeal is a well-known, irreverent online comic which covers topics concerning our daily lives -- and the creator, Matthew Inman, also happens to be a fan of Nikola Tesla.

Last year, Inman initiated a campaign to try and rescue a workshop belonging to the inventor and build a Tesla museum in its place. The Tesla museum project attracted over 33,000 contributors, raising almost $1.5 million in funding.

While these funds were enough to buy the property, $8 million more is required to build the museum.

In a new comic describing Inman's enjoyment of his new Tesla Model S electric car, the artist also makes an appeal directly to the company's founder, Elon Musk. While waxing lyrical about the Model S's innovative technology and how the car handles and acknowledging Tesla's founder contributed $2500 to the original project, Inman also takes the opportunity to ask Musk for additional funds.

After all, Musk is worth billions and happily spends millions on famous submarine cars.

The plea appears to have paid off, as Musk tweeted a response to Inman, saying he'd be happy to help out.

While we don't know how much Musk plans to contribute, the future is looking brighter for the Tesla museum.
