Microsoft sees gold on Wall Street

Six months ago, with strong input from John Connors, newly appointed VP of its worldwide enterprise group, Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) decided to get serious about trying to make inroads in financial services. It launched "Project Gold Digger"--an effort to unseat Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq:SUNW), which has been the dominant vendor on trading floors, and IBM Corp.
